UNC-Miss St

  • UNC is absolutely dominating...and that might be an understatement. Mcadoo and Bullock look good as usual. Hairston and McDonald knocking down big shots. Joel James is a beast in the post. Best play he had was a blocked dunk on defense then ran down court to be on the offensive play. He will eventually thrive. Paige has looked shaky.

IMO...starting lineup once the season really gets under way will be Strickland, Hairston, Bullock, McAdoo and James. Luke Davis, Johnson and McDonald will be the first ones off the bench. Paige will eventually get some burn...but he needs more practice time.

  • Interesting on Strickland vs. Paige ...

It's a good sign UNC is dominating, because Mississippi State is awful. New coach had to clean house when he got there, and their cupboard is bare.

    Paul Strelow

  • Highlight has to be the 3 point shooting...at one point they were 15-30 from 3 with the best being the 3/4 court shot from Hairston.

And re Paige vs Strickland...Paige will be the better pure PG...but at this time he keeps having too many turnovers. Strickland ain't flashy but he's steady and gets the ball to the right players. Paige will get there...just more of a learning curve than he (or I) thought.

  • I think the Maui Invitational should be a big confidence booster for this squad.

I am really disappointed in the quality of the field this year. I think Long Beach State is a better team than 80% of the field in Maui.

    Can't wait for Nov. 27th.
