Tar Heels not in DT Maurice Hurst Jr.'s Top 2

  • Staff still struggling to find mutual interest from big-bodied DTs.

Two on top for four-star defensive tackle Maurice Hurst Jr.

Westwood (Mass.) Xaverian Brothers defensive tackle Maurice Hurst Jr. has a clear cut top-two and has an important visit on the horizon. Whats the scoop?

  • Geez...eventually we've got to get some interest from a DT, right?

I just don't get why we (continue to) struggle to get interest in DT's. Seems like we've had a hard time attracting interest for several recruiting cycles now. The playing time is there...and we've proven that we can put defensive players in the NFL (albeit under the previous staff). I wonder if it takes a monster season from Sly Williams and breakout seasons from the younger DT players for prospects to realize the potential here.

  • I agree , Though this group does not have that pro flavor to it YET, Playing time for someone who wants to show they belong should be important. So many kids are gonna get lost in limbo behind other monsters and even future commits. UNC seems the perfect place to show there talent. UNC is gonna need some supergrow just to get a few of these DEs up in weight enough to ground the middle
