I'm happy they chose LVille over UConn or Cinci. Think it's dumb to have traded LV for MD, but maybe we actually came out on top? Only time will tell, but I'm sick of the conference talk.

Agreed with all of this, especially the latter.
UConn and Cincy offer nothing financially and very little in terms of athletics, save for maybe UConn hoops if the program can sustain success post-Calhoun.
Louisville has money and something of a market. I think the league would be better off retaining Maryland long-term, even if its programs are struggling right now, but yeah, we'll see. More than anything, I think Maryland will fade into obscurity.

I am Happy with the Louisville choice but still might have gone on and added 3. Cincy would have been Ideal in getting into the Ohio market at a time os thinks they own recruiting in the Carolinas. Cincy has improved their football magnitudes over the last 5 years and could easily move to another level in the right league. UConn has ?s but are in an area the ACC would def help recruiting IMO.

This is good for the league. Although I believe, Swofford passed up on a great opportunity to send them to the Coastal and Georgia Tech off to the Atlantic.
If the league has any more sense left in their brains, they'll turn their attention to an ACC Channel/Network with the help of ESPN.

I think it was the best move right because of the schools presumed to be 'free agents' Louisville offered the best combo of football/ basketball. They also have great coaches who will keep these programs performing at a high level provided they can hold onto Charlier Strong( which they probably can't!) I think the Acc needs to add one more school and they should all lock the higher ups at ND in a room until they agree to join us in football creating a very good super league and leading to the ACC network being the most sought after contract in all of super conference universe! As for who that other team should be, your guess is as good as mine! I'm thinking UCONN, Penn state, Kansas, Cincy, or heck why not Illinois. Whoever it is needs to be enough to convince ND that joining us full time will be better than not joining us. 50 million a year for everyone would be too much for even ND to turn down! Not saying they would get that, but it makes my argument stronger so why not!

Not sure about other sports at Maryland...UL fans travel well, we have world class facilities for all our sports and they all are very competitive...our current AD is committed to winning...only big downgrade (outside or market) is academics...I'm sure UMD is good as Big 10 took them....but UL has made a lot of strides...and will continue to do so, especially with the help of being in the ACC which I'm sure will help
I'd say football is a step up as is basketball, and like I said, I dont know about any other sports at Maryland, but UL is competitive in a lot of ours...its really amazing what the university as turned into from what it was in the 80s...basketball only school, football possibly dropping to D2 and crappy Olympic sports with low academics.
UL still as some work to do on the Academics, or at least the perception, but the university is totally different than what it was not only 30 years ago, but 10 years ago. Hell, it looks a lot different today than when I graduated 3 years ago

That's why I'm glad Louisville is in the conference, you guys travel well and represent yourselves proudly.
Given the bowl line-up and the strength of our best teams we can now expect Florida State, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Louisville, UNC, NC State, Virginia & Georgia Tech to put on a good face for the conference on national television.
The others in the conference can kick rocks! When it comes to bowl participaton, it wouldn't bother me one bit if Miami, Duke, Wake Forest, Syracuse, Pitt & Boston College never got a piece of the action. I don't trust them being able to represent to the conference well in that regard. Syracuse, Pitt & Boston College really worry me.
