Justin Jackson catapults UNC in team rankings

  • North Carolina No. 2 behind Ohio State in 2014 team rankings

Justin Jackson pushes North Carolina to No. 2 in 2014 rankings

Ohio State holds onto the top spot in the 2014 team recruiting rankings, but North Carolina has positioned itself at No. 2 with the addition of five-star Justin Jackson.

  • Thanks Jerry.

And question on team rankings. I would think that 2 top 30 players (both UNC and Louisville) would hold more weight than 3 top 100 players (Ohio State). Ohio State may have more commits...but UNC and Louisville have better quality. To me quality matters more than quantity. Can you explain how the team rankings are determined? Is based on a points scale or some other metric?

Good question and its a tough call. Love No. 20 Keita Bates-Diop for Ohio State and he in a sense matches one recruit for North Carolina/Louisville. Gave slight edge to the two other Ohio State recruits over No. 24 Joel Berry. Went w quantity, thinking quality virtually even. Plus have a feeling Ball is under ranked. Haven't seen him yet. Going conservative from the intel on him.
