If Swofford is any good at his job, he'd make this happen. Besides, with ND waiting in the wings, I don't see how this wouldn't raise the value of the league. Let me be clear, this is the ONLY team that is worthy of us going to 16 teams.
A move to the ACC would solve a lot of problems.

The Atlantic Coast Conference: A Tradition of Excellence... Then, Now and Always
I'd put the odds very close to none, but many PSU fans would be very happy with a move. I'm for staying in the Big Ten, but as you can tell from our board, the prevailing opinion is that a move would be very welcome.
GOD< Please ACC take them......then you guys can deal with all the "drama" and conspiracy theories they have dancing around their minds.....
Guys try and ignore Robo. He's part of the scum that is the Ohio State fanbase. He's a little butthurt that posters called him out on his crap, so he's going around and pestering other fanbases like y'all's to elicit responses about Penn State.
That being said, good luck the rest of the way.
Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS
TY you too!!
Gentlemen, My butt isn't hurt....I've had many good discussions on the PSU board about football, with a couple of their posters....but it's impossible to complete a discussion before a few guys like Texas Lion, HamiltonLion and a couple more jump in and attack based solely on what school you pull for....
I am simply trying to help the little sisters of the BIG get their wish...a jump from the BIG to the ACC where they think they will be happier and cost the BIG so much revenue that it will crumble....
It gets hard putting up with the PSU fanbase as all they have done all year is complain about officials only making bad calls against them and the BIG having a conspiracy against them....honestly, after what was allowed to take place on that campus they are very fortunate that ANY conference would keep them....but they don't see it that way, some of their posters are STILL more worried about JoePa and his record of wins moreso than the children that had their lives changed forever by one of their own...
It's sad really, and getting old listening to them bitch...so I'm all for a trade, you take them and we'll take a team to be determined later.....
BIG UNC basketball fan here but diehard PSU football fan.
Honestly, I'd love to be in the ACC. I love the regional matchups it would create for us and allow the vast majority of our away games to be within a reasonable driving distance. I think with ND halfway in the fold, the ACC is on the right path to get them in full time when that time comes. I think PSU to the ACC needs to happen but believe money will be a factor regarding the ACC network, research money, etc. All I know is that BTN and B1G as a whole get a TON of money each year that is divided up and distributed to each University accordingly for research and TV money. I honestly don't know what the ACC's money levels are at this point but think within time they will increase with ND in the fold. Geographically the ACC is a better fit for PSU than the B1G is.

Would love to have PSU join the ACC.
Even if the Michigan and OSU fans don't want to admit it, PSU is very important to the B1G because of the BIG Network. PSU has a very strong alumni base in the Southeast, especially Atlanta. Can't compare the number of tvs in the Midwest to the number of tvs in the East Coast.
Just don't think it is going to happen.
If it did, I wish we find an out with the ABC family of networks media contract and approach Fox about a tv deal. Tired of being treated as a second class property by the mothership. The way college football works is so and we are in bed with a company (ABC) that isn't interested in selling our (ACC) product.
The ACC has the most national alumni base of all the major conferences. Wish we could exploit that with our own network.
