Is it me or has Alabama become college football truest hegemonic power. For as long as Nick Saban is coach at Alabama, I don't see how he doesn't win 90% of future BCS Championships until his retirement.
The Best Coach - Nick Saban
The Best Program - Alabama
The Best Conference - Southeastern Conference
The Best Recruits - The Cream of the Crop at every position.
The Best Offensive Scheme - Pro-Style Offense
The Best Defensive Scheme - 3-4 Defense (partly because he's the only coach competent enough to recruit a great nosetackle).
Nick Saban is Bobby Bowden on STEROIDS!
The only way the ACC gets anywhere near producing a program of this magnitude is if it put together an economic package, in terms of revenue, that allows for great head coaches to hire and pay significantly great assistants. As of right now, the economics are not on our side. Sadly, only FSU & Clemson seemed interested in coming out of the pocket to make that happen.
Alabama will hose Notre Dame when they meet-up for the BCS National Championship.

Well somebody's a hater
Right there with ya JP. Can't stand that program. IMO it represents all that's wrong with college sports. And Saban seems like a scumbag.
I took something totally different from that game. Georgia would give up 250 to GIO! If they stacked the line Q and Ebron would bust them. Bama is not as strong defensively as in the past, they too would have a hard time stopping the Fed express. Once the defense transitions from players who were expected to bend but not break to Playmakers UNC will be able to take on the best the SEC has to offer. I personally thought both teams got bum calls! Which kind of negated each other, though I do agree about the holding. Even UNCs great line got snagged every once in a while. Bama vs ND gonna be a classic. Sure wish Oregon had gone undefeated!
I understand your stance on the issue however I just see a guy in Saban who is just taking advantage of a good thing. Same way Pete Carroll did at USC. Instead of worrying about Bama, I choose to believe that the Fed will put us in a position to dethrone them, perhaps even as early as next season! I ain't scurred of Bama, LSU, Florida, that other Carolina or any other SEC team. IMO they betterbe afraid of us because we are moving on up quickly in the college football world!
If only everyone had ur attitude...love it go heels!!!
There is a lot of room for improvement in the ACC. The two biggest places that can realistically be improved is scheduling and officiating. There is no doubt in my mind that the SEC had a competitive advantage over the ACC coming into rivalry week by playing FCS schools the week before. Essentially giving them a bye week.
I don't think it is fair to compare the ACC payrolls to that of Bama or other powerhouse SEC programs. The SEC athletics departments support fewer athletics programs. ACC programs have to make fiscally responsible decisions for the entire athletics department. I mean, UF cut an academic program (computer science engineers I think), but increased the athletics budget by twice the amount of academic program's budget.
The ACC needs to be competitive in the market place with coaches, but your statement is a little too broad and does not consider all of the economic factors at play.
What proof do you have that ACC sponsors more programs than the SEC?
I am only going to list the SEC sports programs and assume you know that the ACC has more than is listed for the SEC. Fairly common knowledge. Doubt the SEC would even have women's sports (except maybe softball) if it wasn't for Title IX.
