Been hearing UNC and UVA to the B1G a lot lately, and i hope to god it isn't true. I would love to have UNC in the same conference as us, but I hate how conference re-alignment is breaking up awesome rivalries. UNC-Duke is the best in CBB, i hope it doesn't get split up.

The B1G is not our first choice but we have offers from both the B1G and the SEC
Is UNC looking to leave the ACC?
The ACC would have to lose another member before UNC would act.
When/if the dominoes fall, it will move quickly. UNC is preparing itself and the right power brokers are trying to build consensus, should that happen, for the right move for UNC and UNC athletics.
I'm not disagreeing or anything but what makes you think we have an offer from the SEC? And what would it consist of, all sports, basketball, etc? I hate all things SEC but I'm almost at the point where I think that there are more pros than cons. Like an "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" situation. To be honest, I would be quite disappointed if we settled for anything less than the SEC if we do leave the ACC. I would love to hear what you think about it as well.
Regardless I think we are going to be all right. UNC is a nationally reknown name and I think any conference would love to have us as we bring a strong showing in almost every sport. I agree that we make a move when our officials deem it necessary, however, I think we can wait as long as we want and it still wouldn't be an issue if we have to find a new conference.
When all the realignment stuff was happening a year ago, both conferences made their push for UNC to join their respective conference. We were offered a spot then and we said "thanks but were good right now" and the offer was left on the table for the future.
We would go 100%. Every sport. The problem we'd run into is that most SEC schools don't have LAX and men's and women's soccer. The rebuttal to that is that most of those sports make their schedule much like independents anyways so it won't effect them much.
Texas A&M Aggie here. We don't have men's soccer, but we, and most of the SEC has women's soccer. Pretty damn good brand of soccer. We brought equestrian with us from the Big 12, but don't have gymnastics, which is apparently huge in the SEC (who knew?). I think most of the Olympic sports are treated like independents with scheduling. The SEC wants to have enough teams to hold a championship in an event so they try to limit the number of teams that are orphaned (e.g. ice hockey).
FWIW--I'd love to have you and VaTech join the SEC. Great brand. I'll get to see UNC, Florida, and Kentucky basketball on a regular basis.
The true test of a man's intelligence is how much he agrees with you.
