North Carolina is home to one of the top 2016 prospects in the country and the Tar Heels were the first to offer.

But could he commit to that 'offer' if he wanted to?
(I only laugh to keep from crying about how much the staff apparently screwed up with Jaason Lewis )
I expected this. Not necessarily the first comment , but shortly thereafter.
I still don't believe this is on the staff. You should never take to twitter to make an announcement.
You call the coaches, you tell them you want to commit and they tell you 'welcome' or 'give us a few weeks, we want you, but we need to make sure your grades and everything academically are in order'. It's just that simple.
I'm getting more cynical by the day.
But seriously, in the race to be the big FIRST offer for a kid, how many times does a staff throw an offer out that isn't immediately committable? I would say most of the time.
If it was the UNC staff who failed to do their homework on a kid after 'offering' him several months ago then they're the one who need their transcripts checked.
If what the kid is saying is true and the staff was telling him 'sweet nothings' about how much they wanted him etc and then they tell him they aren't going to take him right now because THEY are the ones who haven't done what they should have done all along? Sorry, but I would be pissed as well.
Ok, enough thread jacking....Back to Antonio Williams: Seems like a great kid and special young talent. Hopefully the staff doesn't screw it up (or the kid decides to commit too early on Twitter after having an 'offer' for months/years).
