I mean before the Championships. For a good number of decades before Schnelly, Miami was a pathetic football program.

Points remains, it's pathetic in this day and age how little coaches devote to program development and turning their nobody, never-been-great schools into consistent winners.

Boise State isn't where it is now because they have this 50 year tradition or big-time college affiliation.
