ACC Player of the Year

  • I've seen reports that the All-ACC team is to be announced at 3 p.m. this afternoon, per media vote.

    Not sure if that includes ACC Player of the Year. But regardless, who do you think gets it in the apparent competition between Gio Bernard and Clemson QB Tajh Boyd?

    Bernard has the North Carolina media factor working in his favor, and Boyd struggled in his last public appearance. On the flip side, Boyd has more impressive stats, and his team had superior regular-season success.

  • Well of course I think Bernard but for benefit to Bernards future , I hope Boyd gets It . That will keep that fire burning in Bernard if and when he returns for the Heisman, and player off the Year Honors. Added incentive never hurt anything.

  • Unfortunately...I think it goes to Boyd. While Gio had impressive stats...he missed two games and only played part of another. I think that makes his stats look better but hurts him in the overall POY voting. Just my two cents...

  • Real question...how many Heels make All-ACC? I think you've got to have Bernard, Cooper, S. Williams and Reddick on the 1st team. I think Bond, Q. Davis, Ebron and Martin land on one of the 3 teams (assuming they do 3 All-ACC teams).

  • Let's not forget Hurst who finished 3rd in lineman voting. And Gio could also win Special Teams honors as well as 1st team RB. I think Gio deserves it, but some would call me biased. Bryn has a chance to make a team as well... Something like 29 TDs and 7 INTs?
