2013 game

  • With the release of the date for the 2013 USC/UNC game, I was wondering what everyone's thoughts over here are on a potential mulit-game series. It always struck me as odd why there isn't more of a rivalry between our schools.

    I think it would be cool to see a 5 or 6 game series, with a pair a of home and homes and maybe a game in Charlotte or Atlanta. It would definitely be cool for the fans and would also be great for exposure/recruiting.

  • I think there is plenty of rivalry at least in the fans minds. I think it would be good to play you guys at the very least every other year or two if every year is tough to work out. We should play our neighbors to the south. I think playing SEC teams will give a better barometer on how well our team is improving. We tried playing our neighbors to the west but they would rather give us money not to play them.

    By the way, thanks for coming over in a respectful way and posing the topic. Hopefully this thread will stay that way.

  • I would love to see the series continued on an annual basis and played in Charlotte. I think I would prefer the neutral site as opposed to the home and home. I understand the home games are important money generators, but I think that having it in Panthers Stadium would add to the enormity of the game and improve the coverage. Additionally, it would be great selling point to recruits to know that you could play one game a year in a soldout NFL stadium. Charlotte is such an important football area, I can only see the positives of playing a game there every year.

    I agree that would be an awesome first or second game every year. At least every 3 or 4 years would be cool.

    Our AD is a UNC grad so maybe there will be some discussions about it with the 2013 game coming up.
