A source informed CarolinaBlue.com that the Durham (N.C.) Hillside duo of Khris Francis and Korrin Wiggins committed to North Carolina during their visit to UNC Wednesday evening.

Francis & Wiggins are the first two junior commitments in the 2013 class for UNC

Their pledge was made to head coach Larry Fedora before UNC's basketball game agaisnt Duke in the Dean Smith Center Wednesday evening.

Both picked up scholarship offers the North Carolina coaching staff on National Signing Day.

"Carolina is my number one school as of now because they were my first verbal offer," the 5-9, 190-pound Francis told CarolinaBlue after picking up the offer.. "They’re already going to have a step above everybody else if I receive any other offers.

“Coach Fedora seems like a cool guy. I think it’s a good thing that he’s the new coach but he feels like he should reach out to the local kids.”

The 6-1, 189-pound Wiggins shared almost the same sentiment after picking up the Tar Heel offer.

“I talked to basically the whole coaching staff including coach Fedora,” the defensive back explained on National Signing Day. “They were just telling me how interested they were in me and how they wanted me to play for their school.

“It was amazing. It felt like it was unreal at first…it’s just a blessing. That’s all I can say is that it’s a blessing.”

Both prospects are rated an '86' which makes them 3-star prospects.

Wiggins is currently ranked the no. 18 overall recruit in North Carolina while Francis follows two spots just behind at no. 20.
