Grier sits in at UNC

Will Grier

Will Grier has thrown for 26 touchdowns to just three interceptions in five games.

2014 QB target Will Grier made a relatively impromptu trip Wednesday afternoon to watch the Tar Heels. Might a decision be coming sooner than expected?

    • Sounds very promising. The coaches are doing a great Job letting him Know He is there target and what he does in HS will lead strait into College, That was a very well put together article, Thanks. Hope UNC gets there man!

    • Grier looks like a great prospect, but I'm curious about the PRO tag. We've heard a lot of talk about how the QB only needs to keep the defense honest in the FedSpread, but wouldn't an ideal candidate be able to run well? So, my real question is, would DJ Gillens not be a better candidate considering his high interest in UNC? I'm sure both QBs have positives and negatives, but is a DUAL QB naturally a better fit? Adding to that, I'm assuming two top QBs wouldn't commit to the same school, so how does the staff navigate the waters if they prefer one over the other? Thanks Paul, and you're doing great!

... Of course that's if both guys pass the new Thorpe test of academic excellence.

    • I love Gillins too! A Dual that is a Pass first QB would be great, IMO they could have easily said Grier was a Dual, with the amount of Run Yards he accumulated. You have to remember, the problem Marquise has is he has all the running ability in the world but is inconsistent with passing. I think that is why Top colleges when taking Duals want to know they can Pass first. Tebow was one of the rare exceptions to the rule at Florida and now getting Wild Cat Snaps in the NFL. If there is a Robert Griffin or so out there I am totally for it. He took that offense off the chart with his ability to throw and the fact if they did not account for him at the line he ran 20 -30 yards. I personally believe once Lou would work Grier he could have at least a shadowing of that which would be a dang good year for any offense! Shame Gillins is out the rest of the year, that also kind of hurts as all schools will want to see if he gets better before taking him IMO. Even FSU backed down some after the injury! Worth a chance , Maybe so If he would commit early!

    • Jus to say if there was one player and position UNC could gamble on an injured player it would be Gillins who is the top rated Dual IMO That said I have been a Grier fan from the first tape I saw of him!!!! Quick release and accurate, was later on i found out just how mobile he is!
