Five thoughts from No. 23 UNC’s 85-67 loss at Texas on Wednesday night.
Get PJ more minutes!!! Dex isn't a good shooter and Marcus is frail! We are getting bullied!
We have to work too hard to find a shot in the half court. It is painful.
I think the team can grow and develop but the coaching has to get better. This team needs stability. Need to stop rolling players in and out. They need to play to together and develop a feel for one another in real game action. I have no words for how poor of a coaching job this is. I try not to be overly critical or have knee jerk reactions to loses, but there is just no excuse for the rotation and distribution of minutes.
Agree that PJ needs to play more without question. He can at least create a shot.
Paige is not impressing me right now at all. He looks like a little boy out there and his stamina is shocking.
McAdoo is good, but without a deep shot he's never going to take off and bust open a game. A 6'10" guy is a dime a dozen today. Just don't feel like McAdoo's interior play is going to carry this team.
Very frustrating to watch, and GoingHeels I'm with you in that the coaching has to improve. Seems like decades ago when Lawson, Tyler etc were here, and since then it's been a steady decline. Last year was exceptionally frustrating, and we can add this year to the list. I feel like I haven't seen a Carolina team with flash since '09. Was watching highlights from old UNC teams and it reminded me that we always had that flash and swagger. Watching the last three years we've been WAY too nice and clean out there.
I agree with all of you. The coaching is what is a sad, no half court execution because Roy can't coach a halfcourt set. That's why coach always wants to run, run, run. He can't coach a team in the halfcourt, which is why without superior talent he can't win. I will say this, thanks Roy for the championships but in the world of must win now if he gets canned please bring in Brad Stevens as coach.
